The amazing book 'Miracle Morning' by Hal Elrod will change your perspective of morning rituals or routines. This vlog/episode will share some of my biggest take home messages from this book - focusing on the Life S.A.V.E.R.S that help you start your day focused, inspired, on track and in charge (of your life too!) all by spending intentional time on six key areas. I've adopted a morning ritual that I love by following the suggestions in this book, but I want to be able to summarise these for you - perhaps with a new perspective on how you think and what mornings might have to do with turning that all around.
I've spoken about morning rituals before, but I can't stress enough how a well thought out ritual - whether it be five minutes or an hour - can impact the rest of your morning, or indeed, the rest of your day!
This video talks about how a morning ritual can be transformative and set the scene for a positive day moving forward and some of the things you might consider for your own morning rituals.
So you don't have time to do twenty minutes of meditation a day? Or maybe you're a bit intimidated by the whole meditation process, but know of how incredible the benefits supposedly are.
Well perhaps it's time to start micro-meditating? This video runs through ways you can build as little as a minute of meditation practice into your daily life, so that you can find ways for the 'busy' to be balanced with the 'blissful'.
So knowing that you don't need to be great to start, but that you need to start to be great - how do we find what works best for us to move us forward? To overcome procrastination or something that we are passionate about, but a little frightened of?
This week's video is about my own experience with the path of least resistance and how that can often lead us on a magical adventure - one that we thought must have been 'harder' or more 'time consuming' or more 'treacherous' to start. Well - it doesn't have to be. Start where you are at. Start with what FEELS good and you are on the way to greatness. Take Elizabeth Gilbert's advice to Brene Brown and put it into your own life. Make it EASIER for yourself.
Christmas can be as draining as it is fabulous and prioritising your self-care is important in the week/s that follow. It's not just overwhelm but here in Australia it could be sunstroke, dehydration and death by trifle (I'm not a trifle fan but I have left overs sitting in my fridge from yesterday's feast... so. much. trifle).
So I've put together some simple and concise self-care rituals for the holiday period. Just some of my favourites here at The Breath Between HQ. Take five or ten minutes out to feel re-centered, re-fuelled and renewed and get back to having a most fabulous day and holiday period!
I talk - A LOT!
Everyone who knows me, knows that I'm a chatter box. I'm an extrovert. The very definition of one. Me? Silent?
But one of the biggest lessons I've learnt over the last few years, has helped me in all the years that I can remember in my life - is that purposeful silence has had a profound affect on my life. Even as a Type A extrovert. Listen in for why purposeful and conscious periods of silence are so good for us.
Feel like you're too busy for a hobby? If you feel like your stress is under control, you have free time in abundance and feel refreshed every day - maybe you can bypass this video. But if not - that's ok, these aren't the only reasons why everyone should have a hobby of some sort. Tune in for five big reasons why hobbies are good for your health!
