So what IS it?
For some, the concept of coaching is shrouded in mystery...
Is it like counselling? No - that's focused on the past and I'm not qualified to talk to you about that.
Is it like mentoring - nope, that's because I may be younger than you are and I may not have had the exact experience you are looking to create for yourself (though I MAY have - it's not a prerequisite though).
COACHING IS ABOUT ME SUPPORTING YOU TO CREATE CHANGE.
Let me explain.
The Breath Between was born out of a need to create time and space for rest and renewal in a noisy world. We suffer from stress, anxiety and burn out more as a population now than those who have lived through the Great Depression and both World Wars. We have reached crisis point. We need to slow down, breathe and re-energise ourselves so that we CAN work in the areas that we are passionate about or drawn to and still have a life outside of our work. Still be able to turn up to work and be present with our family as a well rested and energetic person.
As a coach, I can help you do that by identifying two or three inspiring goals that get you back to feeling rested (inspire some beautiful self-care, learn to be gentle to yourself and slow down, incorporate meditation or yoga snacks into your busy day, for example); renewed (want to explore creativity, spirituality, study?) and re-energised (exercise, new work, new hobbies, new passions!). It's about feeling replenished and getting you thinking and dreaming about those things that you love to do, or inspiring you with innovative ways to feel renewed.
Coaching draws on a number of disciplines including psychology, sociology, social work, personal development and career development to help you create change in your life. It takes you from wherever you are to wherever you want to be - and gives you structured support along the way. The process can be fluid, but rest assured, it is firmly grounded in a structured methodology that moves you from uncovering what is most important to you, realising and acting in line with your personal values, setting inspiring and motivating goals and then taking action towards those goals. You will set actions each session and I will lovingly guide you towards the goals we set together at the beginning of our series.
I'LL 'SHOW UP' FOR YOU, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, COACHING ALLOWS YOU TO 'SHOW UP' FOR YOURSELF.
I can guarantee you - what you know as a result of doing a coaching series, cannot be 'unknown' and you will never be the same again.
