I heard about Kate through a friend. She helped me 'unearth' long forgotten hopes and aspirations and helped me sharpen my focus on them. I found as the weeks went on that not only did I achieve the goals we had laid out together but parts of the rest of my life also 'sparked' into action because I had motivation and inspiration again for myself and my future. The biggest change I’ve experienced since working with Kate is that I feel energised about what is ahead for me now and that has been very affirming. Other parts of my life also began to change as well. I am starting to look after my health better through acupuncture, diet, exercise and better food choices. Before I started coaching I was feeling really overwhelmed and it was hard to say no to all of the people I wanted to be able to help. Being so busy meant I missed out on time for connection with loved ones and my own self-care too. I had to try it - especially after having seen my wife go through amazing change after a coaching series with Kate as well. 

After our first session I realised just how much I needed to define and explore the issues I’d been having, and I needed to explore and then connect with my core values in order to make decisions I would never regret and I would feel less stressed about. My wife has noticed I’m much clearer in my ability to make tough decisions now in how I spend my time and I line everything up with my values – they’ve become my compass and it’s helped me to evaluate every task I take on and whether they are a good fit for me.

I felt comfortable to talk about anything in our sessions and every time we spoke I really felt confident that I was moving forward toward my goals.

When I first spoke to Kate I was on the verge of dropping all the balls I juggled as a working mother – on the inside I was struggling to find work/life balance and I desperately wanted to reconnect with my family and friends and find time for me again. I didn’t want to always be ‘busy’.  A new promotion at work left me feeling even more overwhelmed. What I loved about working with Kate was she was there to support me in my life outside of my workplace – she gave me a feeling that someone had my back. When I first heard of coaching I thought it was ‘wishy washy’ and not for me. But early in our series my mindset shifted completely, Kate helped me work through what I needed to in order to retrain my brain and take control of my life and create free time: I’ve booked myself ‘blank space’ and I no longer feel guilty about doing nothing at all sometimes. It also really helped with the Mum guilt!

Kate helped support me to stand up in front of 150 people at a gala event in Uluru and speak about my own motivation and inspiration and I helped others in the process – and I couldn’t have done that as well as I did without Kate’s coaching. It feels so good to be happy, less overwhelmed and more productive – at home and at work. Thank you for supporting me, being a listening ear and allowing me to focus on myself again.

When I first connected with Kate I was struggling with finding where I fit in the world and being able to live a meaningful life that was my own and not in comparison to others. I felt negative about work and other areas of my life and wanted to live my life more meaningfully. I have always worked with sporting coaches so when I became a new Dad and life was busy I began coaching with Kate because I felt like I was in a bit of a slump and needed a 'gee-up' to get me going again. Before I began coaching with Kate I’d just moved to Hobart after a stressful time preparing and selling our family home. My children were still small and any time for me had disappeared. I had become burnt out and felt that I couldn’t find time to recover.

Going into our first session I was excited and a bit emotional that I was doing something for myself, but I came to quickly realise how important it was for me to prioritise myself and rediscover self-love. Now if I’m having a rough day, my loved ones remind me: “what would Kate say today?” In the words of Brene Brown “you can only love others as much as you love yourself” and throughout the coaching series my capacity to give love has grown as I have strengthened my love for myself. Before I worked with Kate I was not making myself a priority at all. I was worn out and stressed and I put a lot of pressure on myself. It only took the first session to truly realise that it was ok to slow down and put myself first and that I needed to be the best person I could be in order to provide for everyone else the way I wanted to. Now I am more than ok with having down time and knowing I don’t have to spread myself too thinly. I feel rested, stronger, more energetic, brighter and happier in general and I have more quality time for family and friends. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my goals and how good they make me feel.
