Hands up who sometimes feels like life should be 'difficult' to be worthy?
That you have to go through various 'battles' in order to really move forward?
Yes - some people DO have battles and they courageously move through those in an inspiring and motivating way. I have so much admiration for people who have suffered in that way and come out stronger and better than ever - I've had my own battles too.
I used to feel like in order to be 'great' it needed to be 'hard'.
On a subconscious level I used to equate anything worthwhile with lots of hard work. Now don't get me wrong - so many things that ARE worthwhile and meaningful and that move us forward ARE hard work, but what if it didn't HAVE to be that way?
What if SOMETIMES the path of least resistance is actually the best one?
The start of something magic?
When I was starting my PhD I was told: just write. It doesn't matter in those early days about the quality of your work. Don't edit or perfect it as you go - just write. This is because it is always, always easier to tidy up a first draft than nothing at all. We don't produce our best work the first time, every time. Sometimes we get lucky - but so often the magic happens after that first draft, or first cut or first attempt.
So knowing this - that sometimes you just have to START in order to be great, how do we find what works best for us?
This week's video is about my own experience with the path of least resistance and how that can often lead us on a magical adventure - one that we thought must have been 'harder' or more 'time consuming' or more 'treacherous' to start. Well - it doesn't have to be. Start where you are at. Start with what FEELS good and you are on the way to greatness.
With an open heart and to slowing down together.
